Laxey Bridge

The new steel and concrete bridge structure was constructed between March 2016 and January 2017, designed to increase the flow of water to prevent a repeat of 2015’s flood.

It is a contemporary, architect-designed option that recognises the importance of Old Laxey and its conservation area status. Its appearance reflects elements of Laxey’s harbour taking inspiration from the ‘pepper pot’ lighthouses, one red and white and the other green and white, mirroring the real thing at Laxey harbour.
